About the athlete

Richard Potter

British Invictus Games Competitor

Rich grew up in western Ireland where he was very busy playing many different sports and trying different clubs. Rich suffered an ankle injury playing in a football semi-final for his regiment in the army. Doctors were unable to make his ankle better and he eventually had his left leg amputated below his knee. The Invictus Games were a perfect match for Rich’s love of sport. He has represented Team UK in a range of disciplines, winning several medals including gold in the 100m sprint, silver in table tennis and bronze in relay.
